Why do my LED lights flicker or buzz?

Almost always the dimmer. Most flicker traces to a dimmer built for incandescent globes, or to a circuit sitting under the dimmer's minimum load. A dimmer designed around a 60W globe often cannot see a 24W LED circuit cleanly, and the result is flicker at the bottom of the range.

What is minimum load and why does it matter?

Dimmers specify a minimum and maximum wattage. Many need 10–25W to work properly, and four 8W downlights only make 32W — cut that circuit down to two fittings and it may drop under the minimum and start flickering. Check the total connected wattage against the dimmer's range.

Leading edge or trailing edge?

Trailing edge for LED, in almost every case. It dims more smoothly, runs quieter, and is what modern LED drivers are designed around. Leading edge was built for incandescent and magnetic transformers and tends to buzz on LED loads.

Is every LED fitting dimmable?

No. The fitting has to be specified as dimmable and paired with a compatible dimmer — the manufacturer usually publishes a compatibility chart. If a product page does not say dimmable, assume it is not, and no dimmer will change that.
