Warranty
Everything we sell carries the manufacturer's Australian warranty.
How claims work
Warranty is provided by the manufacturer, and each brand runs its own claim process with its own service network. Claims are made directly with the brand, which is normally faster than routing them through us — they hold the parts and they book the service call.
What we do: supply your proof of purchase, confirm the model and purchase date, and point you at the right form or phone number for that brand. Email info@sarily.com.au with your order number and we will send it through.
Warranty periods
Periods are set by the manufacturer and vary by brand and by product type — a fan motor, an LED driver and a globe are rarely covered for the same length of time, and "in-home" warranty (they come to you) is different from "replacement" warranty (you return the item).
The period for a specific product is on its product page. If it is not there, ask us before you buy and we will confirm it in writing.
What warranty generally covers
Manufacturing defects and premature component failure under normal use — a motor that fails, a driver that dies, an LED array that degrades well short of its rated life.
What it generally does not
- Incorrect installation, or installation by anyone other than a licensed electrician
- Use outside the fitting's rated conditions — an indoor-rated fan under a patio roof, an IP44 fitting taking direct weather
- Power surges and storm damage
- Finish changes caused by salt air, pool chemicals or UV exposure
- Normal wear, and fixings working loose over time
- Non-original remotes, controllers or light kits fitted to a product — these commonly void the warranty on the whole unit
Before you claim
Have your order number, the model number, the installation date and a photo or short video of the fault. Most brands ask for all four, and having them ready turns a two-week exchange into a two-day one.
A fault that appears within 30 days of delivery is simpler to handle as a return — see our returns page.
Your rights are wider than the warranty
A manufacturer's warranty sits on top of the Australian Consumer Law, it does not replace it. Goods must be of acceptable quality and last a reasonable time given their price and description. If a fitting fails unreasonably early, you may have a remedy even after the manufacturer's period has expired.
Hard-wired fittings, fans and heaters must be installed by a licensed electrician in Australia. Installation by anyone else is unlawful and will void the manufacturer's warranty.
